Home, Family, and City: The Modernist Narrative of Bahram Bayzai’s Crow and Maybe Some Other Time
Abstract
This article extracts the discourse of The Crow (1977) and Maybe Some Other Time (1987) on the city, home, and family. It reviews aspects of Beyzaie’s life which formed his approach to cinema and shows how this approach turns his films into a locus for rereading Iran’s history and challenging the dominant political, cultural, and artistic discourses in Iran.
