The Difficulties of Single Mother Mentioned in the Contemporary Iranian Cinema
Abstract
In recent years Iranian cinema has witnessed a strong presence of films dealing with the second wife and a temporary marriage as the main themes. Unfortunately, sometimes this second wife becomes a single mother, a mother who has neither divorced nor lost her husband, but she is the mother of a child which the Sharia has recognized as legal but the society has not yet accepted. This article intends to study this problem through Fereshteh Tāerpour’s The Second Woman and Invitation by Ebrahim Hātami Kiā.
